Idaho City

We made a quick trip to Idaho City yesterday. It is only about 30 min. away so we thought we'd take a quick trip. We had a good time!
This creek was chilly. I'll admit it. I saw 3 mosquitos on my arm in about a 2 minute span and said "ok, Beckham and I will be in the truck!" Next time I will be prepared with the bug spray.
You could insert many different captions here.
I'd love for you to share yours in the comment section!

Videos of Beckham

He loves rolling around. I was having trouble catching the flips on video so please be patient. Some of these are a couple minutes. He is hilarious. I wish I knew where he is trying to go!

Maisy...

After we made cheese sandwiches we couldn't find the tie to the bread. We cleaned up, put everything away and went on to play. The next time I opened the pantry this is what I found.
I had no words. I love her so much it brings tears to my eyes.

Silly girl

She picked out her outfit, did her hair and then said she was going to the store. She then saw me get the camera and decided to show her lovely butterfly. I love her sense of style! Yes, that is Patti's senior picture on our fridge.

She chose broccoli

Maisy loves broccoli. She has picked up a tree and started eating it like a lollipop in the grocery store before. The other night I was trying to decide what to make for dinner. Maisy came in the kitchen, opened the fridge, pulled out the broccoli and said "I want a bowl of broccoli for dinner".
So that's what she had!

The Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me a channel of thy peace; that where there is hatred, I may bring love; that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness; that where there is discord, I may bring harmony; that where there is error, I may bring truth; that where there is doubt, I may bring faith; that where there is despair, I may bring hope; that where there are shadows, I may bring light; that where there is sadness, I may bring joy. Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted; to understand, than to be understood; to love, than to be loved. For it is by self-forgetting that one finds. It is by forgiving that one is forgiven. It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life. Amen. I love this prayer.

Family pics

Whoooo's having fun at the Nature Center? Ha ha ha, Stacie, that was definitely a Hayes joke!
Don't really know what's up with these funny faces???
Happy family!
This was Beckham's bed during our unexpected visit to my Dad's house. It's a Rubbermaid under the bed sweater holder filled with blankets! Vicki, you are clever. You can't really tell, but that's a pink shirt he's wearing too.
Dad, Maisy and Zoe. Maisy had about 7 wardrobe changes while she had access to Zoe's closet!

Curtain

So while at my sister's house, I decided to give a sewing project a try. She had an adorable cafe curtain above her kitchen sink and told me how easy it was to make. Easy, for her.
We went to the fabric store, picked out these adorable reproductions of 1940's prints, took them home and started to sew. Beth was nice enough to get this started for me before I left. She did a great job, made it look super easy. I, however, failed miserably! Sewing is hard, once I got home I messed them all up! They are crooked with strings all over the place. I also measured wrong and they definitely aren't "scrunched" nearly enough. Maybe our next house will have a tiny window and they'll look great???

Ode to my Thither

I have no idea how to write an ode. I just wanted to give her props. I love her, her home, her family and I miss her. Seeing my sister and being in her home both inspired me and reminded me of the person I want to be. Somewhere along the way I let parts of myself slip away a bit. I want to recommit to becoming the woman I had hoped I might be someday.

Here are a few of my aspirations:

practice yoga and meditation on a regular basis, shop as locally, naturally, and organically as fiscally possible, find a church that feels right, keep learning and trying new things, teach my children gratitude, respect, responsibility and fun! surround myself with not only the people I love, but things that I love as well. These are only a few parts of my life I'd like to work on. Actually, for now, I should probably just be figuring out how to keep house with 2 kids. I have no idea how it's done with multiple children!
